The Diocese of Imus Catholic Educational System, Inc. (DICES) community gathered at the Parish of the Holy Family in Lancaster New City for its annual Assembly and Thanksgiving celebration. The event, held from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, brought together administrators, faculty members, non-teaching personnel, selected parents, and students from the different DICES member schools for a full day of reflection, gratitude, and spiritual renewal—strengthening their collective commitment to Catholic education.

The day began with a solemn Eucharistic celebration, presided over by Most Rev. Reynaldo G. Evangelista, D.D., Bishop of Imus, and concelebrated by other respected priests and school directors. Educators, parents, and students united in prayer, giving thanks for the blessings bestowed upon the DICES community. A Day of Reflection: Presentations and Discussions

Following a brief snack break, the assembly continued with a series of insightful presentations. Dr. Karol Mark Yee delivered the first session, focusing on the "State of Philippine Education." In this talk, Dr. Yee provided an overview of the current educational landscape in the Philippines, highlighting challenges such as learning gaps and the demand for quality education amidst evolving needs. The session was followed by an open forum, allowing attendees to share their thoughts and engage in dialogue.

The afternoon session, titled "Kumusta na, Pilipinas?" was facilitated by Mr. Miguel Karlo L. Abadines. This national situationer offered a timely reflection on the state of the nation, prompting participants to consider the challenges and opportunities facing the Philippines today.

Celebration of Talent and Community

After lunch, the celebration continued with a vibrant showcase of talent. Gold awardees from the recently concluded Festival of Gifts 2025 performed, demonstrating artistic skill and creativity while exploring meaningful themes. Junior High School students from Holy Cross Catholic School of Noveleta presented a heartfelt dance number, while Senior High School students from Saint Augustine School–Tanza showcased a powerful routine addressing social issues through movement. An intermission song by Angel de Leon, a student from St. Jude Parish School, added to the festive atmosphere, inspiring the audience with both music and message.

Conversation in the Spirit: A Reflective Journey of Faith and Community

The afternoon portion of the event culminated in "Conversation in the Spirit," a reflective gathering led by Rev. Fr. Alain P. Manalo, DICES Superintendent. This session encouraged participants to reflect on their spiritual journeys and consider where the Lord is guiding them. The session began with a five-minute period of personal reflection, inviting attendees to contemplate God's guidance in their lives.

Following this reflection, attendees were divided into small groups to share insights and engage in meaningful conversation. After a brief discussion among the participants in their respective groups, nine volunteers shared summaries of their group discussions, highlighting key themes such as the significance of choosing a leader wisely, faith in times of uncertainty, the call to be instruments of God's love, and the responsibility to nurture students' spiritual lives. Father Alain also skillfully guided the conversation, urging participants to remain attuned to God's voice and the connections within the DICES community.

A Grateful Conclusion

As the day drew to a close, Mr. Bryan Esguerra, DICES Support Team Leader for Human Resources, delivered a message of appreciation, reinforcing the collective mission and commitment to excellence in education and service. The assembly concluded with the singing of the Community Song, "Ningas ng Pag-asa."

The DICES Assembly and Thanksgiving 2025 was a celebration not only of past achievements but also of the renewed commitment to the mission of providing quality Catholic education, grounded in faith, service, and community. Participants left the event with a renewed sense of purpose, ready to continue their journey of faith and dedication to Catholic education.
