The KABISIG 2024 Youth Assembly successfully concluded on August 26, 2024, at Ugnayang La Salle, De La Salle University-Dasmarinas. The event, which celebrated faith and divine blessings among the youth of the Diocese of Imus, drew around 4,000 participants from across Cavite, including strong representation from various member schools of the Diocese of Imus Catholic Educational System, Inc. (DICES).
DICES member schools actively involved in the event included St. Jude Parish School, Saint Augustine School-Tanza, Paraclete Foundation Community School, De Guia Academy of Magallanes, St. Michael’s Institute of Bacoor, St. Mary Magdalene Parochial School, Jesus Son of Mary Academy, Santo Rosario Catholic School, Holy Cross Catholic School of Noveleta, and Infant Jesus Academy of Silang.
Guided by the theme “Salamin, Salamin: Reflecting God’s Love sa Amin,” the youth assembly featured a significant Holy Mass celebrated by Bishop Reynaldo G. Evangelista. The Bishop’s homily inspired participants to embrace their mission of spreading God’s love and honored the Most Holy Virgin Del Pilar, the revered patroness of the Diocese.
The event also included a series of engaging talks and reflections. Mr. Andrew Napoleon L. Velasquez, known as ‘Sir Nap,’ presented Kwen-Talk 1 on “Kwento ng Pag-ibig ng Diyos: Kwento ng Paghamon,” emphasizing true dedication to God.
Kwen-Talk 2 featured Sister Ariane Mae Farpan Montablan (‘Sister James’) and Tito Rommel and Tita Eugene de Castro from the Missionary Families of Christ-Cavite, who shared insights on prayer, patience, and gratitude.
Kwen-Talk 3 included motivational talks by Rev. Fr. Ross Layugan and Coach Jeronimo "Coach Mimo" L. Perez, who encouraged the youth to follow their dreams and internalize their faith, with Coach Mimo’s song "Tayo ay Alagad" serving as a highlight.
The event concluded with a special moment of recognition and celebration. Hervinne Monzon, the DYM Coordinator, acknowledged the attendees and introduced a surprise performance by Fr. Ross, who sang "Salamin Salamin" and was honored with a surprise birthday greeting. Additionally, Fr. Ross announced the Gawad Kabitenyong Kabataan, recognizing outstanding youth leaders in Cavite.
KABISIG 2024, running from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM, showcased the vibrant community spirit and commitment of youth in the province. This year's event, the fifth since its inception in 2018, highlighted the ongoing dedication to reinforcing shared faith among the youth in the Diocese of Imus.
