Support Team for Physical Plant Development holds Productive Meeting at SJPS

The DICES Support Team for Physical Plant Development conducted a productive meeting at St.
Jude Parish School, Inc., focusing on the review and enhancement of operational guidelines and
policies essential for effective facility management on July 4, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Facilitated by Mr. Romar B. Reyes, DICES Support Team Leader for Physical Plant and Quality
Assurance, the meeting began with an informative session on the roles and responsibilities of
School Physical Plant Team Leaders.
As part of the morning session, participants were grouped into five groups to collaboratively
review and update specific operational guidelines.
In the afternoon, the event featured group presentations followed by interactive discussions
and feedback sessions. Among the key topics covered included the following:

  • Establishing a Basic Disaster and Emergency Management Program and reinforcing the role of the School Emergency Response Team
  • Enhancing the Cleanliness Program for campus upkeep
  • Implementing strategies for the Facilities and Equipment Improvement Program
  • Planning a comprehensive 3-Year Physical Plant Development Program
  • Streamlining the Procurement, Inventory, and Disposal processes for school facilities and equipment
  • Addressing pest management through a dedicated Pest Control Program
  • Scheduling and overseeing the Annual Preventive Maintenance Program for school facilities
  • Ensuring campus safety with an updated Safety and Security Program
  • Enhancing services through a comprehensive School Services Program, covering transport, supplies, bookstore, and canteen operations
  • Implementing effective waste management practices under the Waste Management Program

The meeting, which concluded with a closing prayer, emphasizes the teamwork and dedication
of DICES Physical Plant personnel in maintaining a safe and conducive learning environment for
the stakeholders in their respective schools.
DICES, through the Support Team for Physical Plant Development, aims to equip physical plant
coordinators with enhanced skills and strategies to ensure efficient management and
continuous improvement of school facilities in the entire educational system.
